Meet the Founder
Simeon Henderson, M.Ed.
Simeon is an award-winning author, motivational speaker, actor, lifelong educator, and community advocate from the West Side of Chicago. He persevered to overcame illiteracy and has dedicated more than 30 years to teaching and inspiring others. As the founder of the BESIMBOLIC brand and foundation, he encourages young people to be “Simply Your Best” through scholarships, mentorship, and community programs.

At the BESIMBOLIC Foundation, we empower young people to reach their fullest potential by removing barriers, providing guidance, and fostering personal growth. Through scholarships, mentorship, arts, sports, and community engagement, we equip youth with the confidence, skills, and resilience they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally—while building stronger, thriving communities for generations to come.
Our Programs

Acting education nurtures creativity and self-expression, while opportunities in the arts expand imagination and skill. With sports coaching, youth learn discipline, teamwork, and leadership. Events
We host impactful events that bring people together to support education, growth, and community. From the annual Scholarship Golf Outing held in honor of Emma K. Wideman, to youth-focused sports camps and other community gatherings, each event creates opportunities to learn, connect, and give back.
